IE: if I have quick cast on, bind hammers on the left side to a key and press that key (not the actual LMB), I will instantly cast hammers without having to hold shift. You don’t have to hold shift unless you’re actually using the left mouse button. I only want to use quick cast for skills such as frozen armor/thunderstorm/bo/bc etc This was a great feature, just poorly implemented.Ĭurrently if you want to use Quick-Cast, its entirely useless because if you have Hammers on the Left Skill, and Quick-Cast on the Right Skill, then you still have to hold Shift to cast hammers while the Aura is active to make sure you dont walk and stand still. In my opinion, using teleport on RMB is faster than using quick cast one keyboard button. With the current system, when you swap to any aura, it will permanently overtake any active skill, and this is a deal breaker for a lot Hammerdins that want to use teleport on RMB. Secondly, we need to give Teleport skill the same status as Auras for players who want to keep playing the same way but have teleport on RMB.

First, we need to allow quick cast skills to be bondable to both LMB and RMB. What you are asking is more than just “make paladins be able to use auras on left click”. This is because auras supersede “static” skills like teleport. Hammerdins cannot use the quick cast feature like other characters can due to the aura status mechanics. When you swap to your aura it’s instantly active! But now with the new quick cast feature, it’s working against you. I think what people missed is that Hammerdins already had a quick cast ability with regards to using their auras. If implemented, Hammerdins could map their main Aura “Concentration” onto the Left-Skill Button and use the Right-Skill for Quick-Cast.

Quick casting on the left would then swap off and back every time you pressed it. If they added a force move you could set to left click that would be nice for people who don’t want to have to use a different keybind for it. It’s already possible with the existing system to simply put the attack quick cast keys on the left side and put auras on the right (quick casting an aura will swap to the aura and stay on the aura already unlike other quick cast abilities that swap to the ability, cast and then swap back). Quick cast works for both left and right button skills depending on which side you’ve bound the skills to, so you can already quick cast hammers on the left without having to hold shift.įor example, if I set Q to one of my keybinds and click on the left button on a paladin and set hammer on the left side to Q with quick cast on, pressing Q will cast hammers without needing to press shift. Riot is keeping an eye on how well the changes are received and will revert them if players’ reactions are generally mixed or negative.Currently, for Paladins, only attacks can be set on the Left Mouse Button and thus “Left Skill”, but the Hammerdin in particular (One of the most iconic builds in D2), can currently not make meaningful use of the newly implemented Quick-Cast feature. If they feel a bit weird at first, don’t worry.

League fans will be able to test out the changes on the PBE.

Heimerdinger’s CH-2 Electron Storm Grenade (E) and CH-3X Lightning Grenade (R+E).For the time being, only a handful of champions are being affected by the new PBE changes: With the proposed changes, certain AoE spells will be “constrained to cast range.” If a target area falls outside of the ability’s range, the champion will automatically cast the spell at the maximum distance in the direction of the cursor without walking forward. Whenever a player casts an ability outside of its maximum range, the player’s champion will walk toward the target area until they’re within range before automatically casting the spell. The developer released tentative changes to a handful of spells on the game’s Public Beta Environment today for players to test out. League’s preseason is approaching and Riot Games is experimenting with how certain champion abilities interact with target areas outside of their max range.
